When I think of Yiannis, I remember how he continued to seize life all the way through his illness. Joy (“…now and then you need a joy overload”- Yiannis), love, laughter, mischief (“As you know my life's role models are Luci (from disenchantment) and Bart Simpson” - Yiannis) were all there in the times since his diagnosis, and what a testament to his character those times were. He persevered with such strength, kindness, gentleness, intelligence and good humour and continued to be a truly supportive and considerate friend throughout. Thoughtful and considered in his choices and decisions he was indeed much-loved by many and he has given me personally so many good memories to cherish. I remember he talked once about the idea of the ripples a person makes during their time in this world. Ripples that flow on from person to person through the way we touch each other’s lives and I know he lives on in the hearts and actions of those who were lucky enough to spend time with him and how they go on to interact with the world. I will miss you dear Yiannis - thank you for spending some of that precious time with me.
